Enjoying Cozumel’s Coral Reef
Before you head to Cozumel, check out our snorkeling tips to make sure you get your money’s worth. The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef runs parallel to most of Cozumel’s shoreline and is one of two reefs in Mexico that remain pristine. Be sure to bring an underwater camera that is rated for up to 30 feet if you are snorkeling or 100 feet if you are diving. Avoid sunscreen and wear a wet suite to not impact Cozumel’s Coral Reef.

Getting To and From Cozumel
The best way to reach Cozumel is via a flight to Cozumel International Airport. From there, you can take a bus or taxi into town. If your plans are flexible, opt for an international flight that lands in Cancun and arrange for an airport transfer with your hotel. Once on land, you can rent a car or hire one of many taxis, and head off on your own from there.
