Ashport Landing is a quiet little town in Tennessee. It possesses the quaint charm of small town USA. A must see is Fort Pillow State Park. It is full of history and the Confederate Army built a great fortress here back in 1861. The fort itself is well preserved and the interior has been reconstructed for all to enjoy. You can visit the museum which has many artifacts from the Civil War and a video of a battle back in 1864. Fort Pillow State Historic Park is set on 1,642 acres and it is now also a Wildlife Observation Area, it is a great place for bird watchers to explore the trails and wildlife. You can even drop a fishing line in the 27 acre Sullivan’s Pond as it is stocked with bass, bream and crappie.
Nearby, you can venture to the Anderson-Tully Wildlife Management Area and enjoy the great outdoors and plentiful wildlife. Or just enjoy the down home, country atmosphere with small restaurants and cozy pubs.
