Seychelles isn’t always a popular choice for travelers as it can take a while to get there. However, it’s gaining popularity for some cruiselines as many travelers are wanting to see this beautiful area. If you do happen to take a cruise to Seychelles and are only spending one day there, here’s what you should see and do.
The Seychelles Beaches
It’s hard to find beaches that are more beautiful than the ones located here. The waters range from green or blue and even purple or beige. Each beach is framed with palm trees and some of them are popular and full of people doing water sports while others are more remote. One of the more popular beaches is Georgette Beach.
Valle De Mai Nature Reserve
This reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s located on the island of Praslin and is known for the Coco de Mer palm tree. Many cruise ships offer tours to the reserve as Seychelles is known for it’s wildlife conservation. The locals want to encourage cruise ship passengers to learn about the plants and trees of the island and how beneficial they are to the ecosystem and it’s wildlife.
Cousin Island
This is a must see destination for animal lovers. It used to be a coconut plantation, but is now home to a variety of birds and wildlife. Here you can see close to 300,000 nesting seabirds and tortoises that lay their eggs right on the beach.
Seychelles Resort Stays
Because of the beauty of Seychelles, many cruise ship passengers opt to just book a resort stay for the day and relax. Lemuria Resort offers tennis and golf as well as an onsite spa. The Eden Bleu Hotel has an infinity pool that’s right on the water as well as many shops to browse in.
