Located in the northern part of the Czech Republic, much of Decin can be visited in just a day. Many tourists are surprised at the beauty of this area and the amount of things that they can do while here. While you are in port from your cruise, here’s what you should do.
Decin Castle
This makes for a nice place to stop at for those that want to take a few remarkable pictures. There are a few different guided tours available for those that want to learn about the history of the castle. Popular things to see at the castle are the South Gardens and the Rose Garden. Also, there is a cafe to stop and grab a bite to eat at that offers some amazing views to go right along with your meal.
Go to the Zoo
Animal lovers must make it a point to stop at Zoo Decin. There aren’t a lot of animals here, but there still is a nice variety. Visitors can see grizzly bears, anteaters and monkeys. There is also an aquarium as well as reptiles to view. Parking does tend to be limited so make sure you arrive early.
Decin Regional Museum
If you want to learn about the history of Decin, make it a point to check out this museum. It was once a hunting castle and the museum has been housed here since 1953. There are numerous exhibits to check out, including one with different weapons that have been used throughout the years to protect the city. There is also an art gallery where you can see a variety of different artwork.
